Raipur, Chhattisgarh

Raipur is a city and district of the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. It is also the largest city in Chhattisgarh. Raipur district is important historically and as a point of interest archeologically. The district occupies the south eastern part of the upper Mahanadi valley and the bordering hills in the south and the east. Raipur is turning out to be a major center for the manufacturing, IT and bio-technology sectors. The city boasts of more than 200 steel rolling mills and six steel plants.
